| DAY 01-----Fly to Lhasa and adapt to the highland climate. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fly into Lhasa . Local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa. On the way, you can appreciate the heart-beating highland view along the Yearlong Tsangpo river (the longest river in Tibet and highest river on the earth with an average altitude of 4,000 meters), originating from Jiemayangzong Glacier on the northern Himalayas. Potala Palace, Sera monastery and Zhaxidele crafts
stores (Tibetan Thangka painting carpet) Potala Palace:This ancient architectural complex is considered a model of Tibetan architecture. Located on the Red Hill in Lhasa. The stone-and-wood-structured Potala Palace consists of the White Palace and Red Palace. The White Palace, comprising halls, temples and courtyards, serves as the living quarters of the Dalai Lama. The Red Palace includes various chambers for worshipping Buddha and chambers housing the eight stupa that contain the remains of fifth through thirteenth Dalai Lama. All the stupas are covered with gold foil. The most magnificent stupa belongs to the fifth Dalai Lama. It is 14.85 meters tall and inlaid with pearl and jade. The palace also collected a large number of sculptures, murals, scripture and other valuable cultural relics.
Zhaxidele crafts stores: Visit the Tibetan carpet production process of handmade and hand-painting Tangka. Sera Monastery: The Sera Monastery at the foot of Tatipu Hill is located in the northern suburb of Lhasa City. It is one of three famous monasteries in Lhasa along with the Drepung Monastery and the Ganden Monastery. The Gelugpa or Yellow Hat Sect of Tibetan Buddhism studies Buddhist doctrines using a step-by-step process. As a part of their study, lamas must participate in debates to further their comprehension and proceed to more advanced levels of study. The debating traditions in the Sera Monastery are unique among the three famous monasteries in Lhasa. Debates are conducted by the lamas in the monastery every day beginning at 3.a.m. In a battle of words, they supplement their efforts by using a variety of gestures including clapping their hands, pushing their partners for an answer, or plucking their prayer beads to win the virtue of the Buddha. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

and Jokhang Temple Drepung Monastery (Tibetan: Zhébàng Sì) on the outskirts of Lhasa was once Tibet's largest and most influential monastery, with over 10,000 monks. Today, Drepung remains an active monastery and attracts pilgrims and visitors from around the world. Drepung is especially known as the site of the annual Shoton Festival, with its dramatic unfurling of a giant thangka on the hillside. Drepung Monastery was founded in 1416 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamyang Choeje, and was the seat of the Dalai Lamas before the "Great Fifth" Dalai Lama built the Potala Palace. ![]() Tibetan Medicine Expo Center With a long history, Tibetan medicine is based on the abundant Tibetan knowledge that the local people have gathered from long ago.Here audiences have opportunities to appreciate large Thangkas painted by famous Tibetan doctors, Tibetan calendar tools, Tibetan medicine specimen and Tibetan materials. Specimens for over 40 kinds of Tibetan medicine are being displayed here. Jokhang Temple: Jokhang Temple is the spiritual center of Tibet,It lies at the center of the old Lhasa, Everyday pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek a long distance to the temple,Some of them even progress prostrate by body length to the threshold of the temple.The temple keeps many invaluable cultural relics. The most famous and valuable one is the Sakyamuni statue aged 12, which is devout Tibetans by thousands of pilgrims day and night. | DAY 04-----Lhasa-Gyantse-Shigatse [ B] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
After breakfast, drove to Shigatse. On his way to visit the beautiful Yamdroktso Lake, For Tibetans, it is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. The Turquoise Lake, as it is known for its beautiful color, is a non-renewable water source, and it serves as a habitat for many animals, such as the rare Black-Necked Cranes. If the good weather, Can see the Karola Glacier. Also, we will go for the tour of Palkhor monastery, Located in Gyantse and founded jointly by Kedup Je of the Gelugpa Sect and Rabten Kunsang of the Sakyapa Sect in 1418, the Phalkor Monastery has a special influence over Tibet's Buddhism owing to its unification of three different sects, the Gelugpa, the Sakyapa and Bhuton Sects, in a single monastery. Everest in the western world), there lies the world's highest monastery-Rongbo Monastery.
