Horse ridingHorse riding has been the traditional means of transport in Tibet for hundreds of year. In many rural parts of Tibet horses are still the primary means of transport. Horse trekking is the perfect way to experience rural Tibetan culture and the dramatic landscape of the plateau. We run 1 day trips out of Lhasa and multi-day trips. Most of our multi-day horse trips are from basecamps. This means we can set up a comfortable camp and travel light, returning to our established camp at the end of the day. The most adventurous horse trips we do involve traversing valleys and high passes and often following a tradition nomad route. These trip are for experienced riders. If you are interested in a multi-day horse trip please fill in a Trip Inquiry form and let us know what you would like to do.Dechen Valley Horse

Drigung Valley Horse Trekking day trip Leaving Lhasa at 8am we drive approx 2 hrs to the Drigung Valley where we meet our local horse guide and outfit the group. We then hold an important safety session to make sure everyone understands the safety issues involved in horse riding. We start out slow, allowing time for everyone to get aquainted with their horse. We follow local paths into the hills and stop for lunch. We spend between 3-4 hours of time actually riding and allow plenty of time to meet local nomads and take photos. We return to Lhasa tired but happy around 6pm. This trip is frequently combined with our Drigung Chu rafting day trip to make an excellent 2 day multi-sport adventure Note: This trip can be booked in Lhasa. Trip Details:
